NAT hosts the World Aids Day website. World Aids Day takes place every year on December 1st. You may be aware of the red ribbon. The red ribbon is the universal symbol of awareness and support for people living with HIV. It is estimated that more than 100,000 people are living with HIV in the UK.

What a pleasure it was for me to be commissioned by NAT to edit together its video for the World Aids Day 2019 ‘Rock the Ribbon‘ campaign.
The team at NAT sent me a series of films shot on an iPhone featuring dancers from the Gay Men’s Dance Company and Queer Tango London dancing to Erasure’s massive 80s hit ‘A Little Respect‘.
It was quite a techie challenge as the footage wasn’t great quality. The audio on the clips was poor too so it was about taking the best bits of the dance sequences and making sure the whole thing worked in time with the music. The end result turned out great and it has a joyful feel about.
I also created a series of short teaser videos of a few seconds each for NAT to use on its social media channels of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. That involved creating vertical versions of the videos for Instagram.
Great feedback from the Trust too:
Anabel Unity Sale, Head of Communications at NAT, said:
“Steve did a fantastic job of pulling together the various clips in a cohesive and engaging way to create a really joyful and fun video that epitomising our World AIDS Day 2019 Rock the Ribbon Together campaign. He quickly used his creativity and technical skill to great effect and was a pleasure to work with on this project.”
