Website design and creation
I specialise in websites and e-commerce online stores on the SquareSpace platform.
There has never been a more important time to ensure your business or personal website is all that it can be and that it represents extremely well your business or personal profile.
More and more people are shopping online everyday. On an e-commerce website you can sell physical products, services as well as digital downloads.
I am also a SquareSpace Circle member. That means you can be assured that your are working with an advanced SquareSpace designer. It also means that I can offer you 20% off your first year’s subscription cost as well as an amazing 6 month trial period!
Of course being a Perthshire based web designer doesn’t mean that if you live elsewhere I can’t build you a site. Please contact me no matter where you live in the UK or the world!
It’s much easier now to create a website for yourself, your project or your business than ever before. Platforms such as Wix, SquareSpace and Wordpress mean that you don’t need to be a code guru to create a great looking site that works on PCs, macs, tablets and phones too. However, if you aren’t overly confident with online tech it can be out of reach. That’s also where I can help. I started out as a web developer writing code everyday for a living but these days I can create websites quicker and faster on a platform like SquareSpace. In fact this website is a great example. It is so easy to update with new content too.
I also have a BSc (Hons) Computer Studies and an MSc Software Engineering Management as well as being Prince 2 Project Management Practitioner qualified.
So why not get in touch on 07764 617 713 and we can chat through your website project.
Recent projects include:
The start of a new year and a new website completed for The Life Balance Programme.
I built the website on the Squarespace platform. It’s modern and fresh and just exactly what the client wanted.
“So happy with the service from Steve. The website looks fantastic and the process was simple - exactly what I wanted”
Creating a new website for The Chalet was part of a larger project that also including photography and a promo video. As The Chalet also does food then a table booking integration was essential.
This could be the best looking website I have built yet. I really like the parallax scrolling effect on the home page. As usual the website is built on the Squarespace platform.
Huge thanks to Cordie for asking me to create a new version of their website. I had worked with Cordie previously so it was brilliant to get re-acquainted with the directors and wider team. Cordie, who are based in the New Forest, “delivers world class training in procurement, sales, negotiation and contracting”. Cordie offers “a wide range of practical online and classroom learning options, with training and study centre locations throughout the UK.”
Roll forward and it was time to upgrade the site to a full e-commerce store. Ann had been running the site for that period and was receiving great feedback about how fantastic the site looked, but now it was time to make it easier for customers to buy the jewellery items directly on the site.
The Tweedy Clothing team had already set up their website complete with a shopping cart on Squarespace but had ran in to some problems and needed some help to get the store functioning better and to show the extensive range of clothing products in the best way and to make the user experience for the shopper as smooth as possible.
I reconfigured the online store, made improvements to the home page as well as adding a whole load of content.
As I write this in May 2020 we are in the middle of the Covid 19 pandemic with the lockdown restrictions still in place. Not a great time to be a freelancer! When the Punk Scholars Network asked me to build their new website a couple of weeks back the timing couldn’t have been better.
The key to a great website is great content and great photography. That is why in the initial meeting with Ann I suggested some new photography to really show off the craft jewellery pieces to their best advantage.
HitsvilleUK.com is the website that showcases the research and graphic design work of Dr Russ Bestley.
Russ’s research in to punk graphic design from 1976 to 1984 is visually represented on the site alongside Russ’s portfolio of punk graphic design work. If you are a graphic designer or interested in the punk era then this is a great resource and a site that is well worth a visit. A highlight is the punk singles matrix which is a visual timeline of all the punk singles released in the punk era.
