Huge thanks to Cordie for asking me to create a new version of their website. I had worked with Cordie previously so it was brilliant to get re-acquainted with the directors and wider team. Cordie, who are based in the New Forest, “delivers world class training in procurement, sales, negotiation and contracting”. Cordie offers “a wide range of practical online and classroom learning options, with training and study centre locations throughout the UK.”
A key requirement was the ability for Cordie website visitors to be able to book and pay for a training course at one of their training centres. Cordie has four training centres around the country and also offers fully online courses. So a bit of a challenge!
I built the site on the Squarespace platform. This meant that the Cordie team would be able to add and edit website content. The content management side of the Squarespace platform is pretty intuitive with no coding skills required.
I did a bit of research in to what Squarespace calls Scheduling. It turned out that Squarespace had bought Acuity Scheduling and built that right in to the Squarespace platform. The Squarespace Scheduling functionality is incredibly powerful as it allows businesses the ability to offer updated-in-real-time appointments to its customers. From accountants to yoga teachers, with this functionality, customers can book consultations, appointments and classes with you or your business. Perfect then for Cordie’s prospective students. The new website allows the customer to choose a training centre (or an online course), pick from a series of dates offered, and then pay for the course.
I also set up a store on the site so that the customers could buy their course books as well as book and pay for their exams.
Of course all the things you would expect on a company website are there too such as terms and conditions, news pages and details about the company and the services it provides.
It was a challenging but fun project to do. I supplied the directors with daily video updates as the work progressed and was delighted to do a Q&A session via Zoom with the wider team. Great feedback from Cordie too:
